This didn't sit well with her costar Amber Portwood, who replied, "@F1abraham @MTV what does this mean????? I did it out of respect for my 6 year old who shouldn't be on the cover of a book talking about drugs and not hate."

Portwood's book, Never Too Late, was released in August 2014 and features only her on the cover.

In May 2012, Portwood entered a five-year prison sentence to help with an on-going substance abuse problem. She left her daughter Leah in the care of her ex Gary Shirley. She was released early in November 2013 and has since been working hard on sobriety and caring for Leah. Never Too Late is her memoir about the painful experiences she's endured over the past few years.
