J. Paul Getty’s grandson, Andrew Getty, was found dead in his bathroom on Tuesday, March 31, TMZ reports. The heir, whose family is estimated to be worth $5 billion, was 47-years-old.
According to the site, Andrew, whose cousin is actor Balthazar Getty, was found around 2 p.m. in his Los Angeles home after his ex-girlfriend called 911 to report that Andrew had gone into cardiac arrest. Andrew reportedly suffered from traumatic injury to the rectal area and police are handling his death as “under suspicious circumstances.”
The heir, whose dad is billionaire Gordon Getty, had a history with the Los Angeles Police Department. According to TMZ, LAPD was called to his residence 31 times, and mostly for domestic disturbances involving his ex.
Andrew also reportedly once got a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend who had been placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold after injuring a cop who reported to their home.
