What’s happening here? After posing together on the red carpet at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Gala last month, estranged spouses Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger made music together and reignited rumors of a possible reconciliation on Tuesday, March 8.
Lavigne, 31, posted a photo of herself smiling beside Kroeger on a couch. She followed up with another pic of their many stringed instruments. Joining the couple on Tuesday night was guitarist Zane Carney.
Fans were quick to remark on Lavigne’s initial photo with Kroeger, which has garnered more than 90,000 likes in less than 24 hours. “CHAVRIIILLL,” one follower wrote, while another added: “I love both of them. I don’t want them together, but I’m not going to bash one or the other because they’re happy together.”
After two years of marriage, the couple announced their split in September 2015. “It is with heavy hearts that Chad and I announce our separation today,” the “Complicated” songstress wrote on Instagram at the time.
Five months later, the two still spent Valentine’s Day 2016 together. Kroeger and Lavigne both hit the red carpet of Davis’ annual Pre-Grammy Gala on February 14, and posed side by side. They also hung out inside the star-studded bash.
Lavigne posted a photo with her estranged hubby at the time and captioned it, “Grammy Party ….. Feeling great. Lovely night.”
