Joe Amabile has the full support of Bachelor Nation as he recovers from brain surgery.
“They got it all!” Joe, 40, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, August 6, revealing his doctors had successfully removed his tumor.
Joe’s wife, Bachelor in Paradise alum Serena Pitt, subsequently shared an update of her own.
“The best update: they were able to remove the entire tumor,” Serena, 28, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Thursday. “Joe is recovering really well. We’re feeling so grateful.”
Joe’s former Dancing With the Stars partner, Jenna Johnson, took to the comments section to share a handful of praying hands emojis. Fellow pro Lindsay Arnold sent the same images, while Alan Bersten said he was “so proud” of his pal.
Joe announced in July that he planned to undergo surgery after a tumor was found in his brain.
“I didn’t share my Prenuvo [full body scan] results because they ended up finding a lesion in my brain,” he said in a social media video at the time. “Then, I had to go get a brain MRI and there was a blueberry size lesion in my brain that looks to be a glioma, which is a tumor. I now need to get brain surgery next week to get it removed and get it tested.”
The former grocery store owner continued, “And then we’re going to go from there. So it’s been a wild couple weeks. I definitely wasn’t expecting this. I think it’s one of those things where you’re like, ‘Oh, something like this will never happen to me.’ And here I am.”

“Just saw Joe in the Hamptons. He’s doing well. It’s good to see him,” he shared. “Good to spend time with him. I talk to him weekly. Surgery is coming up, but we’re praying for him. Obviously, my whole family is thinking about him. Joe’s the best. We spent summers together at our lake house, we went to the Hamptons. Him and Serena couldn’t be better people. I’m hoping for the best.”
