The supermodel, 27, gave birth in the L.A. area surrounded by family, and a source tells Us Weekly that the couple, who were trying for a home birth, are elated. “Everything went well and the baby is beautiful,” an insider tells Us. “They’re a very happy couple and excited to start their family. I can tell you they make very beautiful babies together.”
It seems the rock star, 37, has been by his wife’s side all week, even canceling a Maroon 5 concert on Monday when Prinsloo was about to give birth. In a statement posted to its website, the band said, “Maroon 5’s Hartford show was happening in conjunction with the group’s fall 2016 U.S. tour and is being canceled due to the upcoming birth of frontman Adam Levine’s baby.”
Us Weekly exclusively revealed in March that Prinsloo was pregnant. At the time, multiple sources told Us that the Maroon 5 frontman and the Victoria’s Secret Angel — who married in 2014 — were “over the moon” about becoming parents.
During her pregnancy, the beauty posted several selfies of her baby bump, excitedly documenting her growing belly. Last week, Prinsloo posted a sexy, shadowy photo of her bare bump on a beach and captioned it with a bomb emoji.
Levine also expressed how thrilled he was about becoming a parent. “I’m ready to be a dad,” he told Entertainment Tonight in April. “You’re born to be a parent, that’s what we’re here for, really. All the other s–t is great, but it’s not what we’re here for.”
He also revealed that while he’s been getting a lot of baby advice, the couple are going to do things their own way. “When you are doing this for the first time, everybody loves to tell you what you should be doing,” he said. “So, we’re kind of tuning a lot of it out, and we’re just going to do it how we do it.”
