Bennifer forever! Ben Affleck and his famed former flame Jennifer Lopez had a low-key, under-the-radar reunion at the 87th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 22, according to the Associated Press.

The outlet reports that Gone Girl star Affleck, 42, sought out “Booty” singer Lopez, 45, during one of the awards show’s commercial breaks. According to the AP, Affleck “whispered something” in Lopez’s ear. The Grammy winner then “playfully” swatted Affleck on the arm, staying friendly with her ex.

Once Hollywood’s biggest power couple, the two stars began dating after they met on the set of notorious flop Gigli. Now married to Jennifer Garner, Affleck proposed to Lopez with a massive 6.1-carat pink diamond engagement ring in late 2002.

“It was very, very beautiful,” Lopez told Diane Sawyer at the time of the engagement, adding that Affleck’s proposal was “traditional, but also in a very spectacular way, as of course Ben would do it.”

Bennifer’s wedding, which was originally scheduled to take place in September 2003, was postponed and later called off completely when the two stars parted ways in January 2004.

Though their relationship didn’t work out and both moved on to marry and start families of their own (he with Garner, she with now-ex-husband Marc Anthony), Affleck and Lopez remained friends after their split.

“We don’t have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there’ll be an email saying, ‘Oh, your movie looks great,'” the Argo star told The Hollywood Reporter in 2012 of Lopez. “I remember when she got American Idol. I said: ‘This was really smart. Good luck.’ I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She’s put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I’m really pleased to see her successful.”
