Bachelor Ben Higgins Steals Hearts, Hands Out Roses in Valentine’s Day Visit to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

Stealing hearts, one at a time. Ben Higgins stopped by Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on Friday, February 12, to spread some Valentine’s Day cheer.

The Bachelor star passed out roses, heart-shaped balloons, gift bags and Valentine’s Day cards to children, parents and nurses during his visit to the hospital.

“I wanted to stop by because there’s a lot of kids here who aren’t gonna be able to celebrate with their classrooms at school or necessarily some with their families,” Higgins, 27, said. “Obviously love is something that’s very prevalent in my life right now, so I wanted to share a little bit of love with the kids here.”

As he handed 10-year-old patient Yvette Mollet a rose and a gift bag, he explained, “I give these to people I like.” When the young girl asked Higgins if he was married, she jokingly pointed out, “I don’t see a ring on your finger!”

Some of the employees on the fourth floor of the L.A. hospital were also overwhelmed by the hunk’s undeniable charm. One nurse even checked her heart rate, which she said was 113 bpm, as she fanned herself.

“All us nurses get together on Monday nights and we watch The Bachelor,” another nurse said. “My heart is racing a lot. He’s so cute and he’s tall and he’s so nice. He just spent, like, 10 or 15 minutes with my patient, just talking to her. It was awesome.”

The Valentine’s Day cards that Higgins passed out were sent to patients through the hospital’s card drive campaign. More than 21,000 cards were printed and distributed by staff and volunteers.

Mollet added, “He’s a nice person. I hope he finds a nice woman. Too bad he ain’t a kid.”
