B.o.B thinks that the world is flat — and isn’t backing down. The rapper and music producer shared his bizarre suspicions in a series of tweets this week.
“No matter how high in elevation you are… the horizon is always eye level … sorry cadets… I didn’t wanna believe it either,” the entertainer wrote on Sunday, January 24. “A lot of people are turned off by the phrase ‘flat earth’ … but there’s no way u can see all the evidence and not know… grow up.”
The “Airplanes” singer didn’t stop there. He also posted several photos of satellites and skylines that allegedly proved his point. He pushed back at critics and claimed that the government and NASA have been lying for years.
“Once you go flat, you never go back,” he continued on Monday. “I question the international laws that prevent you from exploring Antarctica and the North Pole… what’s there to hide? They want me to be a ‘good little rapper’ and sing and dance and don’t question things…I’m going up against the greatest liars in history … you’ve been tremendously deceived.”
One astrophysicist couldn’t disagree more, though. None other than Neil deGrasse Tyson slammed the entertainer for his bogus theories via Twitter.
“Earth’s curve indeed blocks 150 (not 170) ft of Manhattan. But most buildings in midtown are waaay taller than that,” the Cosmos host, 57, directly wrote to B.o.B on Monday. “Flat Earth is a problem only when people in charge think that way. No law stops you from regressively basking in it.”
He quipped: “Duude — to be clear: Being five centuries regressed in your reasoning doesn’t mean we all can’t still like your music.”
