Be still, our hearts! Two of Hollywood’s hottest hunks, Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling, converged on one red carpet in New York City on Monday, Nov. 23 — and it was just as glorious as you’d imagine.
Pitt, 51, and Gosling, 35, joined their costars Steve Carell and John Magaro, as well as producer Brad Grey and screenwriter/director Adam McKay, at Manhattan’s Ziegfeld Theater for the premiere of The Big Short.
The film, which also features Christian Bale, Finn Wittrock, and Marisa Tomei, is based on Michael Lewis‘ book about the housing and credit bubble of the early aughts.
“I thought it was important because these big banks got away with everything and none of them were prosecuted or brought to justice,” Pitt told Us Weekly at the premiere. “Because of that, we’ve learned nothing.”
On a lighter note, the Fury actor also opened up to Us about working with eldest son Maddox, 14, on the set of By the Sea, his new movie directed by and costarring wife Angelina Jolie.
“I can’t describe a father’s pride,” the dad of six gushed. “I feel so much of it . . . There’s a lot of emotions.”
Pitt and Jolie, 40, are also parents to Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, 9, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 7.
“Maddox and all my kids are so warm and they take on more than anyone could understand, more than I could ever understand,” the actor told Us. “They absorb so much, and I love watching all my children grow and learn. And of course my wife is amazing, and I love watching her teach and grow with our kids as well, I really mean that.”
In fact, asked to name the most inspiring person he’d ever worked with, Pitt said, “My wife!”
