Brooke McCarter, star of The Lost Boys, has passed away at the age of 52. According to multiple reports, the actor died from a genetic liver condition.
McCarter, who segued into acting after a successful modeling career, was best known for his 1987 role as Paul in the beloved vampire flick, which also starred Corey Haim, Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, Alex Winter, Jamison Newlander and Barnard Hughes.
He also appeared in the films Thrashin’, Wired, and Double Switch.
His loved ones released a statement to ihorror.com.
“The McCarter family is heartbroken to share the news that Brooke McCarter passed away December 22, 2015 from the genetic liver condition alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AAT),” the statement read. “He was 52. Brooke was our loving son, brother, father, cousin, nephew and friend,” their statement read. “Funeral arrangements are still being finalized. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

After taking a 20-year break from the business, McCarter returned to acting in 2009 film The Uh-Oh! Show and had most recently filmed Emerging Past, which is currently in post-production.
