Savannah Chrisley’s younger sister, Chloe Chrisley, is trying to be cautious about their parents Todd and Julie Chrisley’s recent presidential pardon.
“Chloe, I think, is still in shock. She doesn’t want to get her hopes up because she feels like something bad is going to happen,” Savannah, 27, said on the Tuesday, May 27, broadcast of NewsNation’s On Balance. “I’m excited to be going to get my dad and [bring] him home to her. We’re excited.”
Todd, 57, and Julie, 52, adopted Chloe, now 12, in 2016, from his son Kyle, three years before they were charged with several counts of bank and wire fraud and tax evasion. While the couple maintained their innocence, Todd and Julie were each found guilty in 2022 and sentenced to 12 and seven years in prison, respectively.
After Todd and Julie reported to prison, Savannah was granted custody of Chloe and brother Grayson, 19. (Todd, who also shares son Chase with Julie, is father to Lindsie and Kyle from a previous relationship.)
News broke earlier on Tuesday that President Donald Trump issued a pardon to Todd and Julie.
“For the past two and a half years, I’ve done everything in my power to fight for my parents’ freedom and bring them home,” Savannah told Us Weekly in a statement. “This moment is the answer to countless prayers, and I am beyond grateful to President Trump for seeing the truth and restoring my family.”
She continued, “I also want to thank Alice Marie Johnson for her unwavering support and our attorney, Alex Little, for being an essential part of this process. Today is a victory for our family, but the fight against wrongful convictions and injustice within our prison system is far from over. I will continue to use my voice and platform to advocate for those who do not have one. Family is everything to me, and I will never stop fighting for what is right.”
According to Savannah, she and her siblings have been “freaking out” about the forthcoming family reunion.
“The president called me personally as I was walking into Sam’s Club,” Savannah said in an Instagram video posted on Tuesday evening. “Both my parents are coming home tonight or tomorrow, and I still don’t believe it’s real. … The fact that the president called me, I will forever be grateful for President Trump, his administration and everyone along the way.”
Savannah, who frequently advocated for Todd and Julie’s release before Tuesday’s pardon, noted that she is now “getting clothes together” and organizing their bedroom for their return.
