Known for his emotional Coldplay songs, singer Chris Martin is opening up about his own life and troubles in a new interview with Zane Lowe.
Speaking publicly for the first time since his split from estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow, Martin, 37, chatted with the BBC Radio 1 journalist about his past, his band Coldplay, and the “challenges” he’s going through in the wake of his and Paltrow’s “conscious uncoupling.”
While the full interview won’t air until Monday, April 28, on BBC Radio 1, a teaser clip was released this week. In the black-and-white video, Martin sits down with Lowe in a recording studio.
“Everyone in their life goes through challenges,” Martin said. “Whether it’s love or money or kids or illness.”
He went on to speak to the publicity he and Paltrow, 41, have been getting, adding, “There have been a lot of false headlines recently but this would be a real one.”
Watch the preview of the interview above and keep an eye out for the full sit-down next week.
