Casa super-close amigos! Cindy Crawford shared her side of the story about how she ended up in bed with a drunk George Clooney after a crazy night of partying with him and her husband, Rande Gerber, who is business partners and best friends with the A-list actor.
“George is very well-behaved now that he’s married to the lovely Amal [Alamuddin],” the ’90s supermodel, 49, dished to Conan O’Brien on Tuesday, Dec. 8. “But there was a time before he met Amal, that he and Rande had gone out, and they did ask me if I wanted to come, but it was a Sunday night and I stayed home with the kids.”
The boys had some fun that night. “Sometimes if Rande goes out late, he’ll go into the guest room, because the kids will end up falling asleep with me in my room,” the mom of Kaia and Presley explained. “I got up because I wanted to make sure he was home safe, and I went in the guest room and I see Rande facedown on the bed. And I’m like, ‘Oh my God.’ He still has his motorcycle boots on. And I’m like, ‘Really?'”
Crawford, like any good wife, went over to the bed to help her husband pull his boots off. “I get on the bed and I’m like, ‘Hey, babe,’ and he looks, and it wasn’t Rande,” she shared. “It was George! I don’t know who was more shocked, me or George, because I’ve woken George out of a dead, slightly inebriated slumber. So, he was like, ‘Oh, my God!’ and I was like, ‘Oh, my God!’ And then I ran out . . . And I find Rande, and I wake him up. He was in our daughter’s room. And I was like, ‘Why is George in the guest room?'”
According to the model, it could’ve been far worse. Crawford turned the lights on and realized it was Clooney, but she would’ve stayed in bed if the lights were off. “I would have just gotten in bed,” she noted. “We were saying, ‘How would George and I have explained that in the morning?’ Like, George and I wake up, we just walk out of the guest room and Rande’s like, ‘What is going on here?'”
Clooney, meanwhile, told the tale from his perspective this past October. “[I] went to sleep and she thought I was Rande because he was sleeping in the other room, because the kids were in their bed, and she didn’t want to wake them up,” the actor, 54, dished. “She thought I was Rande, and I was wearing my boots and my jeans, that’s how drunk I was, and she hopped in bed! That was pretty funny.”
Ever the self-aware hunk, Clooney cracked: “You know . . . she can’t help herself.”
