Giving her a new title! Derek Jeter has finally confirmed his engagement to Sports Illustrated model Hannah Davis. The former New York Yankees captain dropped the word “fiancée” while gushing over his pup Kane in a new post for his website, The Players’ Tribune.
“I had no idea what I was in for as a new dog owner. He was a Christmas gift last year from my fiancée, whose family had Mastiffs growing up,” Jeter, 41, wrote on Tuesday, Nov. 3. “I’ve never owned a pet in my life.”
As previously reported, Jeter and Davis, 25, began dating in 2012. The athlete popped the question late last month but had not confirmed the engagement until now. On Monday, the bride-to-be showed off her gorgeous cushion-cut diamond ring while walking down Fifth Avenue in NYC.
“Their relationship works because they are both supportive and sweet to each other. They almost never fight,” an insider exclusively told Us Weekly.
“Derek is totally in love with her. He thinks she’s beautiful, sweet, and sexy!” the source added. “All of Derek’s friends are jealous that his fiancée is so beautiful.”
This will be the first marriage for both. Prior to meeting Davis, Jeter famously romanced Jessica Biel, Vanessa Lachey, Jordana Brewster, and Mariah Carey. He was also in a three-year relationship with Minka Kelly until 2011.
