According to USA Today, NBC's entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said the miniseries will likely air before Clinton is rumored to declare herself as a presidential candidate for the 2016 race.

"She's not going to probably declare her candidacy for two more years, so this could well have aired before that," Greenblatt said.

The series will look at Clinton's life as "a wife, mother, politician and cabinet member from 1998 to the present," NBC said in a press release to Us Weekly. "The script will begin with Clinton living in the White House as her husband is serving the second of his two terms as president. In the years following, she would eventually become a United States senator, run for president and, ultimately, serve the country as secretary of state."

The actor who will play Clinton's husband, former president Bill Clinton, 66, has not yet been cast.

Hillary, 65, will also be the focus of a separate project — an upcoming big screen biopic concentrating on her time working on the Richard Nixon impeachment as a Washington lawyer back in 1974. Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson and Amanda Seyfried are all reportedly being considered for the role.
