Ellie Goulding is ecstatic to learn that Kate Middleton is expecting her second child — and has already sent her well-wishes to the royal couple!
“I sent my congratulations already because I’m friends with Harry,” the British singer, 27, exclusively tells Us Weekly. “I think I may be seeing them all this week pending on how Kate is feeling.” (Goulding will be performing at the Invictus Games closing ceremony.)
Th Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced on Sept. 8 that they are gearing up for baby No. 2, but Middleton is currently suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, the same acute morning sickness she had when pregnant with Prince George.
“I just think its beautiful,” Goulding added to Us of the baby news. “They’re an incredible couple and I’m sure they’re incredible parents. I’m just very happy for them.”
Goulding sang at Kate and Prince William’s lavish royal wedding reception in April 2011 — a performance she had a hard time keeping secret. “In the weeks before, everyone I know was talking about the wedding, and I was sat like [puts knuckles in her mouth], trying not to say anything,” she told Marie Claire UK in January. “I kept it to myself for so long, but no one would have believed me anyway.”
Up next, the “Explosions” singer will be performing with DJ Calvin Harris for an even bigger crowd when they take the stage at the Bacardi Triangle Festival next month. The three-day concert will run from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2.
