Vivian Wilson does not want to discuss her estranged father, Elon Musk.
“Your father, the best. No?” a reporter asked Wilson, 22, during the 40th anniversary celebration for Spanish fashion label Desigual on Tuesday, June 2, according to a video that has since gone viral.
Wilson replied, “My what? Sorry?”
The reporter repeated the question, referring to Musk, 54, as “the best.” Wilson looked visibly confused before she said, “OK,” while turning around and walking away from the reporters.
Musk welcomed Wilson with his first wife, Justine. (Musk is also the father of 13 other children with multiple women.)

After Wilson publicly came out as transgender in 2020, she confirmed that she no longer had a relationship with her father. During an April interview with Cosmopolitan, Wilson hinted at coming to terms with their estrangement.
“There’s not much I can do about it, so who cares?” she said. “It’s part of my story, but it’s not the future of my story.”
Musk has repeatedly declared that he got into politics because of his daughter — something that Wilson has continuously denied. Earlier this week, he shared Wilson’s most recent modeling campaigns when responding to another X user.
“We should never forget that if not for Vivian, Elon Musk never would have gotten involved, never would have purchased Twitter, Kamala Harris would be President and the Left-wing would have total instrumental control over the construction of Skynet,” the social media user wrote.
Musk reshared the post, adding, “True.”
Throughout his recent jaunt into United States politics, Musk supported President Donald Trump during his 2024 reelection campaign and has frequently criticized transgender rights.
During an interview with Teen Vogue last year, Wilson insisted that Musk’s political views have nothing to do with her.
“It’s such a convenient narrative, that the reason he turned right is because I’m a f***ing tr*nny, and that’s just not the case,” she stated in the March 2025 interview. “That’s not what that does to people. Him going further on the right, and I’m going to use the word ‘further’ — make sure you put ‘further’ in there — is not because of me. That’s insane.”
Wilson added, “Someone’s Twitter profile is not who they are in reality. Your perception of someone is a very small glance of what they’re choosing to let you into. To judge everything a person says or someone says online as what they really believe is dumb.”
