Her side of the story. Farrah Abraham spoke exclusively with Us Weekly about her fight with Amber Portwood on the dramatic second part of the Teen Mom OG season 6 reunion special, which aired Monday, December 5.
According to Abraham, MTV is doing everything in its power to make sure the 25-year-old MTV personality feels safe following Portwood’s violent outburst, which saw her storm the stage and take a swing at Abraham during a wild brawl.
“I didn’t have to attend the rest of the reunion or specials [because of what I consider Amber’s] criminal behavior,” the My Teenage Dream Ended author — who has also had conflict with costars Catelynn Lowell and Maci Bookout — tells Us. “MTV legal has said I no longer will ever have to work with or around Maci, Catelynn or Amber.”
She adds: “They are not to be trusted, and the network knows how to keep them sequestered together and myself separate from now on.”
As viewers saw on part 2 of the TMOG reunion, Portwood, 26, stormed onstage and launched into a foul-mouthed verbal tirade against Abraham after the budding entrepreneur and her on-again, off-again beau, Simon Saran, joked that the Never Too Late author’s fiancé, Matt Baier, looked like a “pedophile.”
The insult prompted Baier and Abraham’s dad, Michael Abraham, to jump on stage to defend their loved ones in a fight that quickly turned physical and saw Portwood try to hit Abraham. Security intervened and Portwood, Baier and Michael were escorted away from the set as Abraham remained relatively nonplussed by the explosive incident.
The 16 & Pregnant alum — who is mom of Sophia, 7 — claims that Baier broke her father’s hearing aids during the brawl and says that MTV is hopeful that Michael won’t take legal action against the network.
“MTV is covering the costs to fix my dad’s hearing aids, as well as all leg injuries and other bills and casts that were requested by my dad’s lawyer since MTV knew and put my family around criminals and the instigated fight,” she tells Us. “MTV is diligently keeping my dad happy so they hope my dad won’t press charges but has every right too.”
MTV had no comment when Us Weekly reached out.
For her part, Portwood took to Instagram to tell her fans that MTV edited the reunion show so that viewers didn’t get see the entire episode. “So they cut out Michael literally screaming in my face calling me a bitch and him putting his hands on Matt’s neck!!” Portwood recalled. “After 8 years this is so disrespectful..I’ve worked too hard on myself to take this kind of disrespect.”
She added on Twitter: “If I was going out there to hit her than I would have. Just wanted her to say it to my face and of course she didn’t…let’s be honest.”
