Gloria and Emilio Estefan Gush Over Jennifer Lopez and Shakira Ahead of Super Bowl Performance: ‘Make Us Proud’ (Exclusive)

Let’s get loud! Gloria and Emilio Estefan have nothing but love for the two major Latin superstars taking over the Super Bowl 2020 halftime stage.

“You have got two incredibly hot women representing,” Gloria, 62, told Us Weekly exclusively at the New York Women in Film & Television Muse Awards on Tuesday, December 10. “I think it belongs to younger generations to come out there and kick some butt, and I think they’re going to do amazing. I mean, JLo and Shakira — it doesn’t get better than that.”

Emilio, 66, echoed his wife’s excitement for the upcoming halftime show, saying, “They are going to make us proud. They are going to do incredible work in the Super Bowl and we are so proud of everything that happened to them.”

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira were officially confirmed as the Super Bowl LIV headliners in September after multiple sources had hinted to Us that the Hustlers star was getting ready to tackle the huge performance.

Since announcing they would be teaming up for the big night, both Lopez, 50, and the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer, 42, have teased a beyond exciting show that will celebrate their Latin culture. The “Dinero” songstress revealed during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on December 5 that she and the Colombian pop star are “gonna bring the flavor” to Miami with some surprise guests.

When it comes to making the most of those 12 minutes on the stadium’s stage, the “Turn the Beat Around” singer and two-time Super Bowl performer shared some words of wisdom for the dynamic duo.

“Try to keep your sanity!” Gloria told Us on Tuesday. “You’ve got 12 minutes to get on and off. It’s going to go by faster than you can ever imagine, so try to enjoy every moment! Just … try to stay cool because only billions of people are watching you!”

The married Latin music moguls aren’t the only ones who have advice for Lopez and Shakira. Former ‘NSync member Joey Fatone gave the two pop icons some pretty hilarious words of encouragement ahead of their huge night.

“It goes by fast. Literally, you blink and you’re like, ‘Oh, it’s over! What just happened?'” Fatone, 42, told Us in November, tossing in one last essential piece of advice: “Don’t suck.”
