Consciously together on Valentine’s Day! Gwyneth Paltrow and her estranged husband Chris Martin looked content with one another on Saturday, Feb. 14. The pair, who consciously uncoupled in March 2014 after 10 years of marriage, linked arms and took a stroll down the beach in Malibu, Calif., with their kids Apple, 10, and Moses, 8.
“Chris gave all of the kids Love buttons and was wearing one himself. Ryder, Kate Hudson’s son, was playing with Moses, and Apple had a friend too,” an eyewitness tells Us Weekly of the modern family’s Valentine’s Day. “That gave Gwyneth and Chris some time together.”
The amicable exes appeared to enjoy each other’s company. Wearing a black tank and comfy navy sweats, Paltrow stayed close to her ex during their beach day and, at one point, linked arms with Martin as they walked.
“She initiated the contact and wanted to be close to him,” the source tells Us. “He didn’t seem to mind and they walked like that for awhile.”
The pair’s outing comes as no surprise, given all the nice things they’ve said about each other since the split. During an interview with Maire Claire, Paltrow explained that “there was nothing dramatic or anything” when it came to their breakup.
“We’ve worked really f–king hard to get to [this] point. But we’re very, very close, and it’s so nice,” she explained of her current relationship with Martin. “I feel like it’s, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have.”
