Influencer Katelynn Ordone has returned to social media following her self-imposed online hiatus to grieve the death of her 2-year-old son, Preston.
“I decided to take a break from social media about a month ago because I was really struggling mentally,” Ordone, 26, said in a Tuesday, January 13, Instagram video. “I needed to check out. I needed to get off my phone for a while and focus on my daughter and friends and family around me. That has been really helpful and really healing.”
Ordone took a step back from posting social media content in December 2025, nearly eight months after Preston died in a car crash. Preston, who was known as “Okay Baby” on her accounts, sustained fatal blunt-force injuries in the April 2025 accident.
Katelynn and her then-husband, Jaeylan Ordone, also suffered injuries at the time, while their 7-year-old daughter, Paisley, was at school and thus not involved in the accident. (Katelynn announced in September 2025 that she and Jaeylan separated.)
“I feel ready to come back, [and] I want this to be a page where Preston is always remembered,” Katelynn said on Tuesday. “I want this to be a page where I can help others who are grieving, and I also want it to be a page where I can have fun on it too. A lot of times I feel guilty, since losing Preston, to do the fun things or even share the fun things.”
She continued, “I feel guilty [moving forward], but that’s what Preston would want. He wants his mom and his sister to live a good life. He wouldn’t want me sad.”
Katelynn further stressed that she needs to “get past” her lingering guilt for the sake of her mental health and her family.
“I need to get over that,” she said. “I really want to share my story, and I feel like I’m getting close to do that mentally. I want to share what happened because it’s been hard, but I think I’m getting close to being able to do that. Anyways, love y’all. I appreciate your support more than anything, and I’m excited to start posting again.”
Katelynn reiterated her intentions in her social media caption, further detailing her readiness to come back to Instagram and TikTok on a more regular basis.
“I’m ready to start telling my truth,” Katelynn captioned her upload. “There have been a lot of unanswered questions that I’m ready to answer soon, and I’m ready to start sharing our lives with you all again.”
In the immediate aftermath of Preston’s death, Katelynn candidly revealed that she didn’t have “any memory” of the fatal crash.
“I don’t have any memory of 2-3 days after the accident. I don’t have much memory of being in the hospital until towards the end,” Katelynn explained in a July 2025 video shared via TikTok. “I suffered a traumatic brain injury and lost a lot of my memory.”
Katelynn was later able to learn what happened through her parents, who told her that she called emergency services within minutes.
“The accident was awful and somehow I was able to get a hold of my phone,” she recalled. “I called 911 first. I was on the phone with them for five minutes. The only reason I know that is because I saw it in my call logs and then my parents have told me that I called them. I was on the phone with my mom for about five minutes. She said she could just hear the pain in my voice. I was groaning in pain and she said she just couldn’t handle it anymore.”
