Jenelle Evans’ Attorney: Teen Mom 2 Star Asked Ex Not to Bring His New Girlfriend to Her House

Jenelle Evans was arrested for allegedly assaulting her ex's new girlfriend on Thursday, Aug. 20.

Don’t say she didn’t warn you! Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans told her ex-fiance Nathan Griffith not to bring his new girlfriend around her Myrtle Beach, S.C. house prior to their alleged altercation on Thursday, Aug. 20, Evans’ attorney Amy S. Lawrence tells Us Weekly.

The troubled reality star, 23, who was arrested on Thursday for allegedly assaulting Griffith’s new girlfriend, had laid out the terms of the interaction before he arrived, Lawrence says.

“It’s my understanding that Nathan was asked to come get some of his things and that [Evans] would leave them at the end of the driveway so that there would be no need to have interaction between the two of them,” Lawrence tells Us. “And Jenelle had requested that he not bring his new girlfriend and he said that’s fine.”

“She was at the house and had just got Kaiser [the 13-month-old son the pair share] down for a nap, and looked out the window and she was with him. And so she called him and asked him to please leave and he hung up on her. And then he pulled in the driveway and so she walked out and she had a glass of ice water in her hand, and it’s my understanding that he got out and …. had a verbal altercation.”

According to Lawrence, when Griffith’s current girlfriend started to get out of the car, Evans, 23, felt “threatened” and threw water at her — the “momentum” caused her to hurl the glass as well.

In a previous statement to Us, the Horry County Police Department in South Carolina explained that Griffith’s 29-year-old girlfriend “was assaulted by her boyfriend’s ex, who threw a drinking glass at her head, causing injury.”

Lawrence adds that though Griffith’s new girlfriend then “picked up the glass and threw it at Jenelle,” she was not arrested.

Evans is charged with assault and battery in the third degree, and is currently still being held in jail awaiting a bond hearing later today.

This is the Teen Mom 2 star’s 13th arrest in five years. Evans is also mom to son Jace, 6. He is currently in the care of Jenelle’s mom, Barbara Evans. Jenelle has been trying to regain custody of the little boy, a conflict that MTV’s cameras have been documenting for the series.
