“Oh goodness, do I have any [relationship] tips? I don’t know if I have tips other than it’s a constant balancing act and making time for each other,” the Witches of East End alum, 37, exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. “I sort of look at it like a scale. I’m like, ‘OK, I’ve been working a lot. I need to spend time with my family.’ Constantly [thinking that], it never ends. It’s why women are going and should be running the world, because we have to do so much and it’s a constant balancing act in your brain.”

The World of Dance host added that she and the Magic Mike star, 37, didn’t have a secret to keeping the spark in their marriage alive. “If there’s a secret, I don’t want to know it. Because I think if I knew it then I’d put too much thought into it.” she explained. “I think we just care about things other than what our job and career is and that keeps a sense of groundedness and I believe in the divinity of life and I believe in the flow and as long as you’re aligning in that way, it works. I don’t know, dance parties?”

The pair, who fell in love while shooting their 2006 flick Step Up, announced their split via a joint statement on Monday, April 2. “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together,” the former couple, who tied the knot in 2009, said. “Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.”

They noted: “There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving parents to Everly. We won’t be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family’s privacy.”
