Hailee Steinfeld is celebrating her first birthday as a fiancée.
Josh Allen posted a sweet photo of the actress on Wednesday, December 11, to celebrate her turning 28. Steinfeld held up a wine glass with a smile on her face as she and Allen, also 28, sat under hanging twinkle lights on the beach.
“I love you,” the NFL star captioned his post. “Here’s to forevermore.”
Steinfeld shared Allen’s photo via her own Instagram Story.
While the couple kept their relationship private at first, both Steinfeld and Allen have started to share more of a look inside their love. The twosome were first linked in May 2023 after an NYC sushi date, and an insider confirmed to Us Weekly that Steinfeld and Allen were dating.
Allen proceeded to play coy about his love life, noting that there was “no privacy” for him and Steinfeld during an August 2023 interview on the “Pardon My Take” podcast.
Steinfeld has been spotted at a few Buffalo Bills games to support her man, but he didn’t hard-launch their romance until this summer. “Onward 🤘🏼,” he captioned an Instagram post in July, including his first social media photo with Steinfeld.
In October, the couple showed off their joint Halloween costume, dressing up as ringmasters for a circus-themed bash. The following month, Allen got down on one knee and proposed to Steinfeld.
“I was very nervous. I think I was most nervous about you finding out about the proposal,” Allen told Steinfeld for the December 6 edition of her “Beau Society” newsletter. “It was hard to keep secrets from you and have other people in your life keep secrets from you. Then, multiple times throughout the day a song would come on and I would tear up thinking about how special our day was going to be.”
He proposed while standing under a floral-covered archway at sunset.
“I said, ‘I couldn’t wait any longer.’ I said, ‘I can’t wait to start a family with you,’” Allen gushed. “I said your full name, and I asked you very nicely. I said please.”
The quarterback said Steinfeld was “extremely surprised” by the engagement before she said “yes.”
“That was all that mattered to me,” he added. “It feels unbelievable to be engaged to someone who is so special and loving and caring and gorgeous and fun and happy.”
