What’s happening here? Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick spent some quality time with their three kids in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, last week, but it’s not what it looks like. The exes, who are parents to Mason, 6, Penelope, 4, and Reign, 23 months, got close while showing some skin in their swimsuits, but they’re not back together — at least for now.
While one source tells Us Weekly that while there’s “no way these two are getting back together,” another says that Disick remains hopeful.
“Scott has always hoped he could win Kourtney back, and he did set up this trip,” the second insider explains to Us. “Of course he hopes one day she will see the light and come back to him. That’s why he went to rehab. He has tried everything, but it’s Kourtney who won’t go there. I still think it could happen one day, but so far Kourtney has not been willing to go back there.”
After nine years together, Kardashian, 37, and Disick, 33, split in July 2015 after the self-proclaimed Lord was caught getting too close to his ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli during a vacation in the south of France. The troubled reality star then checked into a rehab facility in Malibu for drug and alcohol addiction and has since been coparenting with Kardashian.
For her part, Kardashian has moved on, a third source adds. “Kourtney is actively dating,” the insider tells Us of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star. “She’s over Scott, she’ll never get back together with him.”
During their recent Cabo stay, the amicable exes stayed at the Cape hotel in the three-bedroom, two-story luxury Surfer Villa, which features a plunge pool, expansive patio, pool and gaming room, sauna, full kitchen, library and direct beach access. According to a hotel source, the family noshed on tacos, fresh local fish like sea bass ceviche, Mexican-style chocolate clams and more while relaxing on Monuments Beach and swimming in the resort’s saltwater pool.
Disick, who has always been praised by his quasi in-laws for being a great dad despite his issues, also coordinated for a surprise for the kids: arranging for a “real life” mermaid to appear at the Surfer Villa’s private pool, the hotel source adds.
“He’s apologized to everyone,” a source close to Disick previously told Us of his wild summer. “He is really committed to this. He wants to be there for his family.”
