By her side in spirit. Kyle Richards is standing with her ill Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmate Yolanda Foster as she battles serious and ongoing health issues.
Richards, 46, appeared on Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday, Jan. 20, and spoke to host Andy Cohen about Foster's struggle with Lyme disease.
"We've been in contact," the reality star told Cohen about Foster, 51. "We've been in contact a lot actually via texts and emails."
Said texts and emails are no longer easy for Foster to exchange, as she revealed in a new blog post on BravoTV.com that the disease has progressed to a point that she is losing cognitive functions.
"I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can't process information or any stimulation for that matter," Foster explained. "It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it."
Richards expressed her sympathy for her friend, adding that the star, who is the wife to Grammy-winning music mogul David Foster, was in Korea and is now in Singapore, where she is receiving treatment for the relapsing illness.
"She's just really struggling," the mother of four said of Foster. "I'm just hoping that she's gonna get better soon. It's terrible."
Foster has surrounded herself with loved ones as she continues to fight Lyme disease. Her eldest daughter, in-demand model Gigi Hadid, tweeted on Monday, Jan. 19, "I love you, thank you for being an inspiration to me and so many others. I know you will help so many through your battle."
Foster's younger daughter and fellow model Bella Hadid retweeted her sister's words. The star also has a son Anwar, 15.
