Lindsie Chrisley has spoken out nearly two months after being arrested for driving under the influence.

“Nothing’s funny about what’s been going on in my life at all,” Chrisley, 36, began the Thursday, July 16, episode of her “Coffee Convos” podcast with cohost Kailyn Lowry. “I have been completely off social media, I’m not reading comments [and the apps] are not downloaded on my phone. If people are sending me messages, I’m not getting them.”

She continued, “While I want to acknowledge the fact that we have truly built a community that I value so much, it has been so good for me to step away from the noise.”

Thursday’s episode marked Chrisley’s return to “Coffee Convos” following her arrest.

Us Weekly confirmed in May that the Chrisley Knows Best alum was arrested and charged with a DUI, attempting to elude police, improper passing, reckless driving and speeding while operating her vehicle in Georgia. Chrisley was released on bond within hours.

“I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two lane road because they almost hit an animal and I was trying to miss hitting them and whatever the animal was,” Chrisley told TMZ in a statement at the time, stressing she planned to “fight the charge.”

While addressing the incident on her podcast, Chrisley acknowledged that she had struggled with her mental health over the past year.

“I want people to understand that this is a form of entertainment for them, and we genuinely do love doing our job, it is a job and it is a career,” she explained. “When you share so openly things about your personal life in your job, it can cause a lot of problems. I do think the emotional state that I’ve been in over the last year, some of that has been from investing in what listeners are saying or investing in what the Reddit folks are saying online and the conspiracy theories and all the things.”

Chrisley, who further asked for “grace” in speaking about personal matters on her own time, continued the conversation on the Thursday episode of her “Southern Tea” podcast.

“My arrest … is an ongoing legal matter. What I can say on it right now is that I’ve taken this very seriously,” she stated on her “Southern Tea” episode. “I have to focus on, at this point, moving forward, growing and letting the legal process run its course and respecting that process.”

Chrisley further noted that her arrest and subsequent podcast hiatus allowed her time to “step back and reflect.”

“I do think that this was, kind of, a hard-stop moment for me to be like, ‘OK everything needs to get in line and s*** needs to be gotten in order because you cannot continue going down the path of operating off of heartbreak and betrayal and lack of confidence,’” Chrisley said. “Like, you cannot continue carrying that every single day because I’m just going to sit in it.’ I think I’ve sat in it long enough. Not to make light of anything, but it was a great time-out for me.”

Lindsie is the daughter of exes Todd Chrisley and Teresa Terry, who also share son Kyle. Todd is also the father of three children with his wife, Julie Chrisley, with whom also he adopted Kyle’s biological 13-year-old daughter, Chloe.
