The three best friends that anyone could have! Mandy Moore weighed in on her BFF Minka Kelly’s recent romance with one of the former pop star’s exes, Wilmer Valderrama, during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday, September 27.
“We’re all close friends,” Moore, 32, told host Andy Cohen of the trio. “It’s not weird. I love them both, and I’ve been friends with him for 15 years. We’re like, very, very close friends.”
The This Is Us actress dated the That ’70s Show alum, 36, back in 2000. Moore said that they dated “for a year. He was my first boyfriend when I was 15. We can still be friends.”
Back in August, Valderrama was spotted dining with Kelly at Palms Thai restaurant in Hollywood. Multiple sources confirmed to Us Weekly that they’d rekindled their romance after first dating briefly in 2012. The duo then went on vacation together to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, over Labor Day weekend.
However, Kelly and Valderrama called it quits just days later. “They stopped dating,” an insider told Us.
“He’s a good friend to me. Wilmer’s a really, really good person, and any woman would be lucky to have him,” Kelly said during an interview on Power 106 on September 8.
So, there’s really no love triangle, and the three stars are all pals. Moore and Valderrama even posted photos together in July hanging out at Paramount Studios in L.A. while filming their respective TV shows.
“Sometimes you get to work on the same lot as your friends and you can run over, catch up and watch them continue to be a bad-ass (in real life and on TV),” The Red Band Society actress captioned a selfie of the pair. “Love this guy. Friends for over 16 years. Congrats on @ncis.cbs, @wilmervalderrama! Can’t wait to watch you this Fall!!!!”
