It’s truly the emancipation of Mimi! Singing sensation Mariah Carey was photographed this past weekend vacationing on the luxurious island of Capri, Italy, with her new romantic interest, billionaire James Packer.
The mother of twins was snapped clutching hands with Packer, the fourth richest man in Australia, outside of the Pasticceria Da Alberto on the Via Roma, this past Friday, June 19.
Other vacation snaps featured the pair alone on a speedboat, enjoying the crystal clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. For the oceanic jaunt on Monday, June 22, Carey dressed in a skintight bodysuit that showed off her cleavage.
“He’s wooing her,” a source close to the “Infinity” singer told Us Weekly when the photos first came out. Another source told Us that Packer, who runs RatPac Entertainment with Carey’s pal Brett Ratner, has been interested in the mother of two for quite some time. “James was interested in Mariah right when he heard she had split from Nick,” the second insider told Us of her split from Cannon in August 2014. “They’d spent some time together before, and he thought she was gorgeous.”
In another tender moment from their vacation, Packer was snapped wrapping one arm around Carey’s waist. The two retired each night to Packer’s yacht, where they were joined by her twins, Moroccan and Monroe. Proud mom Carey posted multiple Instagram photos of her 4-year-old babies aboard the yacht.
In one, Carey cradled Monroe, while her ever-curious son Moroccan, secure in a pint-sized life vest, gazed out at the sea through his binoculars.
On Sunday, the twins were thousands of miles away from their father, but they adorably wished Nick a Happy Father’s Day with super sweet drawings.
While on the boat, Packer, Carey, and her twins were also joined by the billionaire’s first wife, Jodhi Meares. The unlikely friends appeared to get along great, with Meares even posting an Instagram photo with her ex-husband and the diva on Sunday, June 21. “Amore,” Meares captioned the photo with the pair. (Packer also shares three kids, Indigo, 6, Jackson, 5, and Emmanuelle, 2, with his second wife, model Erica Baxter.)
Cannon, meanwhile, recently told Us that he and Carey were committed to giving their children the best upbringing possible despite their split. “My kids kind of get to experience the both worlds,” Cannon told Us this past March. “They get Manhattan and a little bit of Jersey.”
