This puppy’s in the fame game. Natasha Lyonne revealed to HuffPost Live on Wednesday, Sept. 3, that her Orange Is the New Black fame has affected one very special member of her family: her dog Root Beer.
A fan asked the Addicted to Fresno actress, 36, what her “weirdest fan encounter” has been since she skyrocketed into the spotlight with her starring role in the Netflix series. “I will say that it has been pretty wild,” she mused of her OITNB fame.
It’s been most wild for her beloved pooch. “People seem to really enjoy my dog Root Beer, who has her own fan following,” Lyonne dished. “She has her own Twitter account… that I did not start.”
In fact, people want Root Beer to run for president. “Hopefully, she’s on the Democratic ticket,” Lyonne joked, adding that the Root Beer parody account has made all sorts of snippy comments about GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump. “Also, they make all kinds of exciting collages…”
