Chrissy Teigen is showing off baby bump No. 2! The model made her first red carpet appearance since announcing her second pregnancy at Smithsonian Magazine‘s 2017 American Ingenuity Awards at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, November 29.
Teigen wore a patterned maxidress as she posed alongside husband John Legend, who was being honored at the gala.
Teigen announced her pregnancy on Tuesday, November 21, via an adorable Instagram video featuring the couple’s 16-month-old daughter, Luna.
“Luna, what’s in here?” Teigen, 31, asks her daughter in the clip as she points at her own belly. Luna excitedly replies: “BB!”
Teigen then hilariously quips: “It’s John’s!”
The same day, she showed off her bump in a photo on Snapchat. “Very excited to not have to hide this anymore,” she captioned the mirror selfie in which she is turned to the side while wearing a form-fitting black dress. “Everyone I told first was like ‘uh yeah, we knew thanks.’”
Legend, 38, opened up in August about their past struggles to get pregnant as well as their experience with IVF. “I think it’s especially difficult when you can’t conceive naturally,” he told Cosmopolitan. “You want to feel like everything’s working properly and want everything to be perfect, but sometimes it’s not. I wouldn’t say we can’t conceive naturally, but I would say that it’s enough of a challenge where it felt like we needed help.”
“We’re lucky that we’re living in an age where we can conceive in other ways,” he continued. “[IVF] brought us Luna and hopefully it will bring us a few more awesome kids, too.”
