Ex alert! Prince Harry and one of his ex-girlfriends, Natalie Pinkham, both attended the BT Sport Industry Awards at the Battersea Evolution in London on Thursday, April 28.
Prince Harry and Pinkham, who’s now married and pregnant, briefly dated back in 2003. They first met while attending the 1999 Rugby World Cup.
The redheaded royal, 31, didn’t appear to cross paths with Pinkham, 37, during the lavish event. Instead, he laughed it up with six current and former Invictus Games competitors — JJ Chalmers, Paul Vice, Stuart Robinson, Luke Darlington, Michaela Richards and Sam Stocks — on the red carpet. He looked dapper in a black suit and bow tie and rocked a scruffy beard.
In 2014, Prince Harry formed the Invictus Games Foundation, which gives wounded servicemen and -women the opportunity to compete in a variety of sporting events. He spoke about the organization on Thursday.
“What we’ve done for these guys is provide a platform for rehabilitation, whether that’s physical or mental. They’re not forced into doing anything; it’s their own choice. It’s about being part of a team again,” he said. “I never realized that these guys are the most unbelievable ambassadors for sport and for the military and for this country, but they can go on and inspire every generation possible. So I’m just grateful to call them all my mates and be lucky enough to be in a position where we can put on a platform like this and change their lives.”
Prince Harry also presented the Outstanding Contribution to Sport award to tennis stars Andy and Jamie Murray.
Pinkham, meanwhile, stayed close to British TV personality Zoe Hardman, who is also pregnant. Pinkham announced in January that she and her businessman husband, Owain Walbyoff, are expecting their second child — a baby girl. The couple are already parents of son Wilf, 15 months.
Last month, the handsome royal — uncle to Prince George, 2, and Princess Charlotte, 11 months — opened up about wanting to become a dad. “I can’t wait for the day. So, you know, it will be fantastic,” he told Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts. “I’ve got a kid inside of me. I want to keep that. I adore kids. I enjoy everything that they bring to the party. They just say what they think.”
