Savannah Chrisley opened up about freezing her eggs and the retrieval surgery involved, revealing it was a future-focused decision she reached after careful consideration.
“Just for this whole process of what I’m doing, it was $30,000 to $35,000, which is absolutely insane,” Savannah, 28, said on the Wednesday, April 22, episode of “Chrisley Confessions 2.0” podcast. “And what I struggle with is the fact that insurance doesn’t cover any of it.”
“Insurance carriers should have to cover the costs of IVF if it is medically necessary,” she added.
Savannah noted she wants to take action to change that, while expressing how appreciative she is “for the opportunity to go and see fertility doctors” and “have the resources” needed.
She told listeners it can cost between $3,000 to 8,000 just for the Rx portion, praising her friend for helping with her nightly shots and mixing the medications. “It definitely is a roller-coaster,” Savannah admitted.
The reality star, who was diagnosed with endometriosis that could potentially impact her ability to conceive naturally, said it’s been a humbling experience. “There is a sense of shame that goes along with that and feeling like your body is failing you,” Savannah shared.

She also reflected on a candid conversation she had with a friend in which she vented her frustrations, asking, “Doesn’t it just piss you off when you’re doing everything right in your life to get pregnant and you still can’t?”
Savannah said she felt compelled to speak out about endometriosis as a reminder to fans: “You’re not in this alone. I’m going through it too.”
While chatting with her mom, Julie Chrisley, Savannah said she prides herself on being “110 percent authentically me.” She continued, “I’m not going to give other people the opportunity to tell my story.”
As for the fertility struggles so many women face today, Savannah said she believes there is a deeper issue that is also impacting testosterone levels in many men. “I believe it’s the food that we eat, the environment, what’s in the air,” she said. “So many factors that go into it today.”
Savannah decided to go through with freezing her eggs as a way to be proactive for the future. “I have kept my relationship very private,” she said, revealing she will share more when “the time is right.”
“I want to be one step ahead,” she shared about her fertility journey.
Savannah said she will continue to remain optimistic “even though I didn’t get as many eggs as I would like.”
