Shanna Moakler has broken her silence over shading her ex Travis Barker’s wife, Kourtney Kardashian, in a now-deleted social media post.
“Honestly, there’s no major story here,” Moakler, 51, told the Daily Mail in a statement on Friday, August 14. “I post and delete things on social media all the time, and there really isn’t anything more I want to add to it.”
She hinted, “In due time, I’ll be sharing my story in my own words through my book and I’m looking forward to that.”
Earlier this week, TikTok account Hollywood Hampton posted a viral clip of Barker, 50, and Kardashian, 47, attending the red carpet premiere of his documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear. The couple walked the red carpet with Travis and Moakler’s children Landon Barker, Alabama Barker and Atiana De La Hoya. (Travis helped raise Atiana during his marriage to Moakler but her biological father is boxer Oscar De La Hoya.)
As the clip went viral, there were comments about why Kardashian’s three children — Mason, 16, Penelope, 14, and Reign, 11 — with ex Scott Disick and her 2-year-old son, Rocky, with Barker, were not at the event.
Moakler chimed in with a since-deleted comment, asking, “Where are her children?”
It is no secret that Moakler has had a rocky relationship with Travis and Kardashian over the years. (Moakler and Travis divorced in 2008 after four years of marriage. The Blink-182 drummer married Kardashian in 2022.)
Following the former couple’s 2008 divorce, Travis and Moakler engaged in a custody battle that lasted for several years — and she later had a tattoo of her ex-husband’s name removed. (Moakler clarified that Barker also covered up a tattoo of her initials.)
“To my new-found haters, to clarify since everyone seems to know my personal life, my ex put a skull tattoo over our initials on his hand while his new girl lovingly looked on,” she explained at the time, referring to Kardashian. “That was done with purpose and intent along with posts to try to insult me and my happiness with my new man [Matthew Rondeau]. Once again weird!”
Moakler made it clear in a 2024 interview with People that she was not on good terms with Travis or the Kardashian family.
“[I] don’t have to like the f***ing Kardashians, and I’m honestly sick of talking about them,” she said at the time. “As I stand here today, as a mature woman who’s gone through all that … I do not give a f*** what anyone thinks of me anymore. I’m proud of who I am.”
As for her relationship with Travis, she said, “We don’t speak anymore. I don’t have a relationship with Travis, but I think that’s OK. I don’t feel like it’ll be like that forever, but I feel like right now — I think that’s where we are at in our evolution, and maybe in the future, it’ll change.”
More recently, she spoke with Brittany Cartwright about her dynamic with the famous family during a February interview on the reality star’s “When Reality Hits” podcast.
Moakler said she is happy “as long as my kids are being treated well and they’re good to my kids.” She added, “That’s all I can be grateful for. I try not to harbor too much attention on it. I mean, we can’t really avoid it. They’re everywhere.”
