Taylor Swift and Gwyneth Paltrow caught up during the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City May 6 — and Us Weekly has the exclusive photos, courtesy of Vogue.com! The “22” singer wore her favorite label, J. Mendel, to the star-studded dinner and cocktail reception. Swift completed her look with a J. Mendel clutch, Givenchy heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
Paltrow, meanwhile, looked radiant in a hot pink Valentino gown and Wilfredo Rosado earrings. The 40-year-old Iron Man 3 actress didn’t embody the punk theme in an obvious fashion. “I guess it’s punk in that I’ve gone just totally classic on a punk night,” Paltrow told Vogue.com. (Paltrow and Swift’s paths have crossed before: The Oscar winner helped introduce the country superstar to future beau Jake Gyllenhaal in 2010.)

Inside the gala, Brooklyn Decker caught up with fellow Sports Illustrated cover girl Kate Upton. “I’m in love!” tweeted Decker, who was decked out in a Peter Pilotto dress, Sergio Rossi heels, a Repossi ear cuff, Dannijo rings, a Bijules half ring. The 26-year-old Battleship actress completed her look with Lynn Ban earrings and a Valentino clutch. Upton, 20, was dressed head-to-toe in Diane von Furstenberg.

Karolina Kurkova brought her A-game via a custom Mary Katrantzou one-sleeve, multi-print mini dress. Before she hit the red carpet, the 29-year-old supermodel shared a sneak peek of her look via Facebook. “Ready for my close-up,” The Face mentor wrote.

Project Runway host Heidi Klum paired her Marchesa dress with Harry Winston diamonds. She joined Twilight’s Ashley Greene at the designer’s table. “Rocking the Met Ball punk rock style!” the 39-year-old model tweeted.
