Teresa Giudice had to get resourceful behind bars.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 43, exclusively revealed to Us Weekly Video a few prison hacks she picked up during her nearly yearlong stay at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, and it turns out that Vicks VapoRub is the cure for everything.
“When you can’t breathe, put Vicks underneath your feet, and then put your socks on. If you have a pimple, put Vicks on it; if you have a headache, put Vicks on your temples. Vicks cured everything,” she told Us. “You can even drink Vicks.”
Along with some cold remedies and beauty tricks, the mom of four, who was convicted of fraud in October 2014, also learned some innovative recipes for the kitchen.
“I have to say, the girls got really creative. This one thing they would always make, it was called a potato log,” Giudice explained. “It was a bag of potato chips — you add water, you crush it and then you spread it out. You put chicken or mackerel in the middle, and you roll it.”
To pass the time while in prison, Giudice caught up on TV, including episodes of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and read magazines, including Us Weekly!
“Whoever invented magazines is a superstar,” she told Us. “A lot of the girls would get Us Weekly, they would get it from me, so they were like, ‘Oh, Teresa, you’re in it this week!’”
