What a year! As 2018 comes to an end, celebrities share the moments that made the past 365 days extra special with Us Weekly.
Tying the knot to Paul Khoury in July was the best part of Greene’s year. “My girlfriend, who just got married, was asking me for marriage advice, and I was like, ‘this is so weird and cool,’” the Twilight star, 31, tells Us. “Once we got married, we started working on really setting up what we were going to do as a married couple, and we’ve both kind of stuck to our guns, and it’s been really wonderful.”
While getting engaged to Garrett Yrigoyen on The Bachelorette was almost the best moment of 2018 for the 28-year-old, she says finally revealing the news was actually better. “Being together and [able to say] say his name in public now,” was a great feeling, she says. Yrigoyen, 29, agrees. He says his best moment of the year was, “That first day when we flew to New York and I did press with her. It was so much fun. Just watching her do her thing.”
Reuniting with his Hills cast mates to start filming the reality show’s revival was the highlight of Brescia’s year, he tells Us. "We didn’t know how it was going to take off and it’s just a whole other level," he says. He predicts the show will be “phenomenal,” and he credits Chinese astrology with making the long-awaited reunion a reality. “It’s the year of the dog and I [was born in] the year of the dog,” explains the 36-year-old. (FYI: 2019 will be the year of the pig.)
She had quite a busy year! Though she landed and launched her late night talk show, Busy Tonight, this year, the mother of two says the best moment of 2018 was “the reaction” to her book, This Will Only Hurt a Little. “It was really overwhelmingly lovely,” she said. “I spent a year writing it and it was so deeply personal. I'm glad that people have found their way to it and have responded the way that they have to it.”
The TV chef says she found her “purpose” the moment her documentary made it to Sundance Film Festival this year. RX Early Detection: A Cancer Journey with Sandra Lee chronicles her journey after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. “I cried,” she tells Us. “I felt so many emotions, I screamed, I cried and then called my sister.”
Watching her daughter, Annie Starke, tie the knot on June 30, “was the best day” of 2018, the six-time Oscar nominee tells Us. “They have built a relationship that I have so much deep love and respect for. To see your daughter succeed in a way that you were never able to was so beautiful to me.”
Adopting a rescue dog named Banjo made this year a little brighter for the A Bad Moms Christmas star. Her kids Mae and Leonard “just love him so much,” she tells Us. “He has given us a lot of joy, even though he’s had three abdominal surgeries so far from eating their underwear.”
Watching her hometown football team, the New Orleans Saints, have a stellar season was a source of joy this year for the Sharp Objects star. “I’m so excited,” she tells Us. “I love my home town and I was at their game on Thanksgiving and I loved it.” And she has high hopes for her favorite team in 2019: “They’re going all the way to the Super Bowl!”
Before his wife Cardi B announced their split, the Migos rapper told Us he was “proud” of getting married this year. He also listed “developing myself as a better artist” and welcoming his daughter Kulture as highlights of the past year. He said the six month old is “one of the biggest things in my life, greatest blessings” and noted, “I’m in a good stage.”
“I think just being able to set goals for yourself and seeing them come into fruition is the most rewarding thing that could happen, and a lot of my goals did come into fruition even sooner than I expected them to,” in 2018, says the Princess Switch star.
Appearing on Dancing With the Stars was the best part of the Harry Potter star’s year. “I would say it was country week because that’s when I really got to know the rest of the cast and Keo and I got our first tens,” she tells Us. “He cried. That was such a cool night.”
Taking the stage in Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man “was a dream come true,” the Vanderpump Rules star tells Us. “I didn’t even know [it] was a dream of mine until I got out there and did it and that was just the best experience of my life."
When the last day of filming wrapped on Shadowhunters, “we finished shooting at 3 a.m. and stayed and celebrated until about 7 a.m. on set,” McNamara tells Us. “It was sort of the kids taking over high school and saying goodbye and just really enjoying each others’ company. We genuinely enjoyed spending time together and we created a family. And that’s something I’ll never forget.”
