Her blue crushes! Kate Bosworth has dated several fellow actors over the years including Orlando Bloom and Justin Long.
During a September 2019 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the California native claimed that she was done dating actors, an experience she called “no bueno,” adding, “It’s just — too much of the same thing.”
Bosworth then recalled dating Bloom after the Pirates of the Caribbean star landed his breakthrough role in The Fellowship of the Ring.
“I knew Orlando before he was famous at all. So, we started dating way, way back in the day … and then it hit when we were together,” she explained. “We would land at airports, and he would have girls, like, lifting their shirts up … It was just wild.”
The Superman Returns actress continued: “I mean, if you’re just two normal people hanging out, and all of a sudden it just blows up into something really surreal, then you kind of look at the person you’re with as a rock in many ways. And I think we felt that way about each other through a crazy time.”
Although the pair called it quits in 2005, Bosworth said that she and the England native stayed “really, really good friends.”
The Blue Crush star may have taken a break from actors, but she didn’t swear off industry professionals altogether. The I-Land alum married director Michael Polish in 2013.
“I never even dated my husband-to-be,” Bosworth — who met Polish on the set of their 2011 film Big Sur — told InStyle UK in September 2013. “He said to me after just a few weeks, before we were even together, ‘I’m going to marry you.’ He just knew.”
Following the nuptials, the former equestrian became a stepmother to the filmmaker’s daughter Jasper, whom he shares with makeup artist Jo Strettell.
“Of the things I’ve done in life, the best by far is becoming a stepmom to my favorite person on earth,” the Remember the Titans actress wrote via Instagram in May 2020 alongside a throwback with Jasper.
One decade after Bosworth and Polish first crossed paths, the duo announced that they were separating.
“Our hearts are full, as we have never been so enamored and deeply grateful for one another as we do in this decision to separate. Together, over the last ten years, Michael and I have chosen love, every time. We hold hands as tightly today as we entangled fingers on our wedding day,” the Wonderland star wrote via Instagram in August 2021. The exes finalized their divorce in March 2023.
Following her split from Polish, the Still Alice actress walked back her 2019 WWHL comments about dating actors when she sparked a romance with Long in 2021.
In a heartfelt birthday tribute to the Barbarian actor in June 2022, Bosworth thanked her beau for being “patient” with her while her “life was disassembled” and “creating peace in [her] heart since the day we met.”
