Cutest Valentine’s Day gift ever? Hilary Duff got the surprise of a lifetime while celebrating the holiday a few days early with her boyfriend, Matthew Koma.
“Matt got me my very own alpaca for Valentine’s Day,” she said on Instagram Stories on Sunday, February 10. “His name is Ivan. He’s so cute!”
The Younger star, 31, revealed that she and the singer/songwriter, also 31, will be apart on February 14, so they were on a “rainy day adventure” with their daughter, Banks, to celebrate the holiday. Duff, however, was unaware of their destination.
“It’s not supposed to rain,” Koma said in the clip. “That wasn’t part of the plan and it’s pouring.”
The “Why Not” singer was soon let in on Koma’s scheme, however, asking Banks, “Daddy taking us to meet alpacas? Is he taking us to meet alpacas? I know, I’m so excited! I’m so excited too! Did you know the secret? Did you?”
Duff gave fans an update after meeting her newest family member. “I’m the proud owner of an alpaca named Ivan,” she raved. “He really wasn’t so happy to have us touch him, but we’ll definitely break him. We’re gonna show up with treats next time and hopefully he’ll really like that. He’s so cute, Ivan!”
Later on, the Houston-native schemed about how to get her fluffy friend back to the couple’s abode. “How are we gonna bring him home?” she asked Koma.
“He’s gonna live there with the other alpacas,” he replied.
She tried again: “No, how are we gonna bring him home here? He’s our baby, we can’t make him stay there!”
“He needs his friends,” Koma argued.
The Haunting of Sharon Tate star gushed over her boyfriend en route to meet Ivan. “He asked me out four years ago,” she said of her love, adding, “Right?” “She said yeah,” he said with a smile in response.
