Embodying her true self! Farrah Abraham had a perfectly reasonable explanation for wearing a Wonder Woman costume — complete with cape! — on the red carpet at the MTV VMAs 2016 on Sunday, August 28, at Madison Square Garden in NYC.
“I actually had to turn into Wonder Woman, so I decided to customize it a bit,” the Teen Mom OG star, 25, told Us Weekly Video in the clip above, referencing her life as a teen mom turned reality star.

She went on, “I wanted to channel the pop art icon and all that fun, fashionable stuff. And then we’re going to switch it over for the aftershow — something more glam. [But] I honestly get bored of the fashionable business look, so I dressed it up and I love it. Business takes over my life, so I wanted to have some fun!”
Channeling the role to the fullest, Abraham, whose daughter, Sophia, is now 7, modeled the instantly recognizable red, white and blue ensemble, which included a gold-accented, cleavage-boosting bustier-style bodice, a star-spangled skirt and a red cape. She also worked the heroine’s signature metallic headpiece and arm cuffs. She finished with a red choker and glitter-bombed platform booties.

The My Teenage Dream Ended author is well known for getting her glam on, dressing up in over-the-top getups and teasing her hair into voluminous curls. However, she recently came under fire for putting her little girl in makeup too — but she has words for her critics.
“Makeup is a part of art and it’s pop culture, and God bless us all!” Abraham told Us. “You know what? She’s still wearing makeup. All the girls do. Even the boys do! It’s not a big deal.”

She added, “We live in a free world. Thank God we were born in America. We’re allowed to wear makeup.”
Keeping it even more real, she later captioned a red carpet shot of herself via Instagram, “When your amazing #vmas f—k the rest your the best #TeenMomOG done with all then trash I got better s—t to do.”
