John-Paul Miller’s tumultuous relationship with Mica Miller prior to her untimely death was documented in Netflix’s August 2026 docuseries, Death of a Pastor’s Wife.
Two years after she died by suicide in April 2024, John-Paul is living a drastically different life as he awaits his trial date after he was arrested for cyberstalking Mica in the months before she died.
While his marriage to Mica ended in tragedy, he found love again and married his current wife, Suzie Skinner, in June 2025.
Us breaks down everything to know about Skinner, her marriage to John-Paul and his impending trial, below.
Who Is John-Paul Miller’s Wife Suzie Skinner?
Skinner is the third wife of John-Paul. He was previously married to Alison Williams for 16 years before he filed for divorce in 2016. He then married Mica from 2017, and she filed for divorce in February 2024. The divorce was never finalized before she died by suicide in April 2024.
Skinner was previously married to her first husband, Chris Skinner, whom she met when she started working as his physical therapist. At the time, Chris was seeking treatment after a major car accident left him paralyzed from the neck down.
The couple wed in 2004 and welcomed twins three years later in 2007.
How Did John-Paul Miller Meet His Wife Suzie Skinner?
Suzie and Chris met John-Paul when they moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and began to attend Solid Rock Church, where he served as a pastor.
“The last three or four months of his life, he started telling me he didn’t like that pastor and that he wanted to stop attending the church and to find a new church,” Chris’ sister, Tamara, claimed in the docuseries. “But Suzie didn’t want to stop attending. She would go without him.”
Chris’ mental health started to decline, and Tamara claimed he confronted John-Paul over his concerns that he was flirting with Suzie.
In September 2021, Chris was found dead in a community pool. He died of asphyxiation due to drowning, according to WPDE.
Tamara said in the docuseries that she believed her brother’s death was “intentional” after he had “gained information that devastated him” amid his mental health struggles. However, she did not share what that information may have been.
Throughout the docuseries, Mica’s loved ones speculated that John-Paul and Suzie were having an affair.
The concerns grew so much that Mica asked John-Paul to sign a document which stated she would end the marriage if he did certain things, such as continuing any affairs. John-Paul allegedly signed the document, though Mica still moved forward with their split and filed for divorce in February 2024.
Where Are John-Paul Miller and Suzie Skinner Today?
One year after Mica died by suicide in April 2024, John-Paul and Suzie got married on June 1, 2025.
Solid Rock Church no longer operates at its original location, so the couple now meets with other church members in various smaller locations for their services. John-Paul continues to work as the pastor, while Suzie leads the worship section.
Why Was John-Paul Miller Arrested?
Following Mica’ death, an investigation was launched into her death because she reported that she was the victim of stalking in the months before she died.
John-Paul was arrested in November 2024 after authorities found evidence that he cyberstalked Mica from November 2022 until her death. Additionally, detectives determined he lied to investigators while being interviewed.
He was charged with cyberstalking and making false statements to federal investigators, and he pleaded not guilty to the charges. John-Paul is currently out of jail after he posted bond, and he is scheduled to go to court in October 2026.
