Magnificently Maleficent! The first movie poster for the upcoming Disney thriller, Maleficent, has been released featuring its titular star, Angelina Jolie. The 38-year-old actress looks fierce as the "Mistress of All Evil" in a closeup shot of her world-famous face.
On the poster, Jolie glares at the camera while wearing the character's signature black headdress with horns and cape. To make her look even more sinister, the actress' eyes are a bright blue and green color and her lips are blood red.
Maleficent is set to hit theaters on May 30, 2014, and also stars Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville. The film tells the classic Sleeping Beauty tale from the perspective of the villainess, Maleficent, and explains what drove her to curse Princess Aurora (Fanning). The first movie trailer will be released at 9 a.m. EST Wednesday, Nov. 13.
In part, Jolie signed on for the role to be a part of a film her six children — Maddox, 12, Pax, nearly 10, Zahara, 8, Shiloh, 7, Vivienne and Knox, 5 — with fiance Brad Pitt could watch. "It's a really great script. I'm having a lot of fun. I've already got my horns fitted," the actress told Entertainment Weekly back in March 2012. "My kids are very happy."
Another reason for the kids' cheeriness? Three of them nabbed roles in the movie! In August 2012, Walt Disney Studios confirmed that Vivienne would play a child version of Princess Aurora in Maleficent. Two months later, Us Weekly learned that Pax and Zahara would also have smaller parts in the film.
