Friday Night Lights creator Peter Berg has confirmed that a movie reunion is officially not in the cards; Taylor Kitsch, who played Tim Riggins in the TV series, also reveals he would never do a film reunion

Dry those tears, Panthers — it looks like Coach Eric and Tami Taylor aren't coming to the big screen after all. Friday Night Lights' executive producer, Peter Berg, has confirmed once and for all that a film based upon the beloved football TV series will probably never come to light.

"There's not gonna be a movie. We talked about it, some people thought it was a good idea, some didn't," the 51-year-old creator told Collider in an interview. "I've come to believe it's probably not a good idea and I seriously doubt it's gonna happen."

Indeed, No. 33, Tim Riggins, would (sadly) never make an appearance anyway. In the same week, actor Taylor Kitsch admitted that he would never want to reprise his role as Riggins in a movie reunion. "I'll just say no. No, period," Kitsch, 32, told Vulture while promoting his new film Lone Survivor. "I'm not doing it. I'm never gonna be in that movie. There was already a movie! And the show ended f–kin' spot-on. We're good." (FNL was based on the 2004 film of the same name.)

Friday Night Lights ran for five seasons from 2006 to 2011 (two on NBC and three on DirecTV.) It also starred Kyle Chandler, Connie Britton, Zach Gilford, Aimee Teegarden, Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki, Jesse Plemons, Scott Porter, Michael B. Jordan and many others.
