With Georgie and Mandy’s age gap — and hints of a divorce in the future — how concerned should viewers be about a breakup?

“It’s not in the back of my mind, really,” Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage star Montana Jordan exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the season 2 finale on Thursday, May 21. “I trust the creators, and I trust what they’re doing.”

Jordan, 23, hinted that the show isn’t in any rush, adding, “They’re going to run it out as long as they feel the need to run it out. There’s no ending and there’s no story line to stay along with [otherwise].”

He continued: “They can go wherever they want, and whenever they decide to hang it up, they’ll hang it up. But I hope that’s in 20 years from now.”

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which premiered in 2024, picks up where Young Sheldon left off with the titular characters. After meeting during season 5 of the Big Bang Theory prequel, Georgie, who was 17 at the time, lied that he was 21, while 29-year-old Mandy (Emily Osment) pretended to be 25. Georgie and Mandy ultimately came clean — and then realized that they were expecting their first baby.

Based on the show’s title, viewers were concerned that Georgie and Mandy wouldn’t make it. (According to past episodes of The Big Bang Theory, Georgie has two ex-wives, and he runs the largest tire-selling chain in Texas, which already happened in the season 1 finale when he bought McAllister Auto and Tire.)

“We all know there’s an inevitable breakup in the future. As the title says, [this is] the first marriage,” Jordan previously shared with Us in October 2024. “But whether we know [about] the second marriage or third marriage [is a different story].”

At the time, Jordan pointed out that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has leaned into the unknown.

“The story line is that Georgie gets married and divorced, like, two or three times. But we don’t know past that. We don’t know if it’s with Mandy or with somebody else,” he said. “We have no idea. As an actor in the show, I have no idea. I don’t even know if the writers do. We’re all just going with the flow and seeing what people like.”

Osment, 34, for her part, is keeping all options open.

“They really love each other. There’s no doubt about that,” she told Us in April. “And I think it’s pretty clear that they have really great chemistry, and you want them to work. We’re all hoping that the first marriage is the same to people as the second and third [marriage].”

Looking ahead, Jordan is curious about where the show will go from here.

“Back to balance, I love seeing Georgie go back and be that family man,” he explained to Us. “We don’t get any insight about what the next season is going to be. We’re excited — just like the viewers are.”

Jordan continued: “Time and time again — throughout each season — we’ve seen Georgie adapt and overcome any obstacle that’s ever come his way. It showed the dedication Georgie has for not only making a name for herself but to provide for his family. It goes to show that it’s worth not giving up, and I hope people learn that from Georgie’s story throughout this whole series.”

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage airs on CBS Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET, and episodes are currently streaming on Paramount+.
