Not your average interview. Hillary Clinton endured some pretty ridiculous questions and a few insults during her appearance on Zach Galifianakis’ spoof talk show, Between Two Ferns, which was released Thursday, September 22, on Funny or Die.
The Democratic presidential nominee had some great reactions to the absurd questions.“Not to take away from the historical significance of you perhaps becoming the first female president, but for younger, younger generations, you will become their first white president,” Galifianakis deadpanned, while Clinton, 68, just silently nodded.
Some of Galifianakis' questions showed he wasn’t quite up to speed on what the Secretary of State does (“As Secretary, how many words per minute could you type?”) or on basic biology ("What happens if you become pregnant? Are we going to be stuck with Tim Kaine for nine months?”).
The parody segment poked fun at both Clinton and her opponent Donald Trump. “When you see how well it works for Donald Trump, do you ever think to yourself, ‘Oh, maybe I should be more racist?’” the comedian asked the former first lady. “When he’s elected President, and Kid Rock is Secretary of State, are you going to move to Canada? Or one of the Arctics?”
The former Secretary of State said she would not be fleeing to the country’s northern neighbor. “I would stay in the United States. I would try to prevent him from destroying the United States.” When Galifianakis asked if that means she's going to lead the civil war, Clinton replied, “No, I wouldn’t take up arms.”
The Hangover star jabbed, “Oh, right, because you were saying before we were rolling that you wanted to take away everyone’s guns.”
After that remark, Clinton realized what she got herself into. “I really regret doing this,” she said.
