Did someone stay up way past his bedtime? Republican nominee Donald Trump pulled off a surprise upset over Democrat Hillary Clinton for the presidency in the Tuesday, November 8, presidential election, and while his youngest grandson isn’t yet old enough to vote, the youngster seemed to find another way to express his enthusiasm!
The president-elect’s eldest daughter, Ivanka, took to social media to share the new first family’s excitement at the real estate magnate’s victory. On November 9, Ivanka posted a sweet video to Instagram of her 7-month-old son, Theodore, celebrating his grandpa’s huge (so to speak) accomplishment.
The happy baby — one of three children the businesswoman, 35, shares with husband Jared Kushner — is seen sporting a red onesie with the former Apprentice host’s campaign logo plastered front and center in bold white letters. Mommy Ivanka filmed him sitting on the carpet in front of a collection of toys as he claps and smiles following the historic win.
America’s new first daughter adorably captioned the clip, “Congratulations grandpa!” adding two clapping emojis. Seems fitting!
A wide range of reactions have greeted the video, with some Instagrammers expressing their annoyance at the little boy’s behavior, while others praise it and cheer on the GOP winner.
Generally, most users seem to have placed politics aside for now to simply acknowledge the adorable nature of the video — a tyke rooting for his grandpa’s success.
While it still remains unknown whether Ivanka will land a role in her dad’s Cabinet, we hope to be seeing a lot more of Theodore’s cheerful face around the White House throughout the next four years.
