The beginning of the end. Jules Wainstein breaks down while discussing the issues in her marriage to her now-estranged husband, Michael Wainstein, in an exclusive preview for the Wednesday, June 29, episode of The Real Housewives of New York City.
In the clip above, Wainstein meets up with gal pal Dorinda Medley to talk about her recent trip to the emergency room (the result of a fluke vaginal injury that happened while climbing through a window) and how it highlighted the problems in her relationship.
“When I got into my accident, like I really hurt myself, and I was calling Michael a hundred times,” the exasperated reality star tearfully recounts to Medley, 51, in the sneak peek. “He wasn’t picking up the phone. Like, my brother and his wife picked me up at the ER and it’s like, 2 o’clock in the afternoon. He didn’t show up until 8 p.m.”
Medley tells Jules that Michael’s actions are “unacceptable,” which the mom of Jagger, 5, and Rio, 2, agrees with.
“It just makes me feel like, ‘Where are you?’ I just wanted someone to take care of me because I’m still a mom, I’m still taking care of my children the entire time. I came home from the hospital, made dinner for the kids,” Jules laments to her RHONY costar. “I still was cleaning because the place was a mess because I haven’t been home in two days, cleaning up, organizing, packing lunches and I’m just about to eat dinner. Michael’s like, ‘Don’t you ever give the kids a bath?’ He doesn’t know how!”
In a confessional, Jules somberly wishes that Michael would “step up to the plate.”
“I wish he was around a little bit more because when s–t goes down, you don’t get to crawl in your bed for three days like I used to when I was in my 20s,” she continues. “It’d be nice if I had a partner.”
As Us Weekly previously reported, Jules decided to call it quits on her eight-year marriage after learning of Michael’s alleged indiscretions with another woman.
According to Michael’s attorney Mark Jay Heller, Jules once physically assaulted her husband back in 2012. “In the winter of 2012, Julianne brutally and viciously assaulted her diminutive but brave husband,” he exclusively claimed to Us on June 17.
However, a rep for Jules told Us that “this is not the truth, and the truth will prevail.”
