Joey Potter on late night? After-hours talk shows are the place for big reunions these days, with Jimmy Kimmel Live hosting a mini-Friends reenactment with Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow in September 2014, and Jimmy Fallon’s recent Saved by the Bell extravaganza on The Tonight Show earlier this month.
So it only makes sense that Dawson’s Creek fans are on the lookout for the show’s star-studded cast to also get together on the small screen soon.
Katie Holmes, who played Joey Potter on the drama from 1998 to 2003, spoke to Us Weekly about the possibility of a Dawson’s reunion at the JCPenney’s collaboration with Disney’s Cinderella event at the NY Palace Hotel in NYC on Wednesday, Feb. 11.
Holmes judged A Modern Day Fairy Tale alongside JCPenney Style Voice Nina Garcia and designer partner Charlotte Ronson. The event, which kicked off New York Fashion Week, had students from the Fashion School at Kent State live-sketching their version of a modern day fairy tale look, using the actual dress from the live-action film as inspiration.
“There’s been a lot of talk about it,” she admitted. “And I don’t know because when we did our finale, it was set five years later, so we kind of did that. And Michelle [Williams’] character passed away in the last episode, so…Yeah, you never know. Get Jimmy Fallon on the phone, pronto!”
Dawson’s Creek ran for six seasons and starred Holmes, James Van Der Beek as Dawson Leery, Joshua Jackson as Pacey Witter, and Michelle Williams as Jen Lindley.
