She needs waterproof mascara, stat! Lauren Conrad is celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Hills in a big way. The Paper Crown fashion designer announced her plans via Twitter on Tuesday, May 31.
"Today is the 10th anniversary of The Hills! I am excited to announce that @MTV will premiere an anniversary special with me on Tuesday 8/2!" Conrad, 30, tweeted to her more than 3 million followers.
Last week, Conrad teased via Instagram that she was teaming up with MTV again. "Never thought I'd see the day…." she captioned a photo of herself at a photo shoot with a camera in her face.
The reality star-turned bestselling author starred on Laguna Beach from 2004 to 2005 before moving on to The Hills from 2006 to 2009. On Monday, she shared on her personal website that she was "so proud" of The Hills.

"Looking back, I am grateful for the incredible opportunity we were given to take part in this show," Conrad wrote. "While it was hard at times to share my personal life (poor makeup choices and all) with the world; the experience taught me so much and forever altered my life and my outlook for the better."
To celebrate the show's anniversary, Conrad even re-watched the pilot — for the first time in over a decade. "As hard as it is to look back (other than watching the pilot, I haven’t watched any episodes since they first aired), it brings me a lot of joy to see that now, despite all the challenges we faced together back then, each of us seems to have found what we were looking for," she continued. "But, the real point of this letter is to say thank you. Thank you for all of the encouragement and kind words of support you have given me throughout the years. Without this support I would not be able to do everything I do today."
Conrad's time on the drama-filled series wasn't always joyful, though. Earlier this month, she exclusively told Us Weekly that a producer tried to tell her who to kiss for one particular story line. Additionally, production locked her in a church basement so she wouldn't leave Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's 2009 wedding early.
"The power went out, the generator went out and I said, 'I need to leave!' And [producers] wouldn't let me leave!" she told Us. "At that point, this wasn't really my life anymore, and I left out the [church's] side door, so that's why in the final scene, I'm not leaving with everyone else — I'm taking a side exit out because I had a car waiting, and I needed to leave!"
Conrad's The Hills special will air on MTV Tuesday, August 2, at 10 p.m. ET.
