Miley Cyrus debuted her psychedelic new music video on Facebook for her song “Lighter,” and it’s totally trippy.
“F–k yeah!” the controversial pop star, 22, captioned the video. “After our first show in Chicago we loved seeing y’all sing along to all the Dead Petz jams but seemed like this one was a fan favorite. For all of you who can’t be with us in Detroit tonight and of course for all you who will be here, here is the official “Lighter” music video directed by me and Wayne Coyne, featuring Jen Stark’s badass animated kaleidoscopic projections!”
In the rainbow-colored video, the singer can be seen singing along with another figure — though his or her face isn’t identified — while smoking.
Cyrus released her fifth studio album, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz, as a surprise for free online, directly after she finished hosting the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards in L.A. on Aug. 30.
Her stint as host was marked by numerous outrageous ensembles, including a high-cut Prada bodysuit so revealing, the TV cameras had to pan away.
The 23-track album was recorded alongside Coyne — the lead singer of The Flaming Lips — and received mixed reviews.
“He’s everything in the world,” the former Disney Channel star said of her relationship with Coyne. “I am 100 percent in love with Wayne, and Wayne is in love with me, but it’s nothing sexual in any way. That would be the grossest.”
